#CH2026: Quintin Schevernels

Demystifying Executive Decisions

Biography

Many of us spend our days trying to influence decisions. We build business cases. We analyze customer behavior. We run experiments. We create dashboards. We present insights.

And somewhere in the back of our minds, we often assume that if only we had better data, more experiments, or one extra slide in our presentation, the people making the big decisions would finally say yes.

But do they?

I got to know Quintin Schevernels through the Dutch digital industry many years ago. Over the years, I’ve watched him move between worlds most optimizers rarely access. CEO positions. Supervisory boards. Investors. Entrepreneurship. Different seats at the decision-making table, all offering a unique perspective on how companies actually operate.

That’s exactly why I wanted Quintin to join us at Conversion Hotel.

Our #CH2026 theme is Mystic World – Reveal the Truth. This year, we’re challenging assumptions because assumptions are everywhere.

We assume that executives don’t care about experimentation. We assume they only care about quarterly numbers. We assume product teams ignore consumer insights. We assume technology drives decisions.

But how many of those assumptions are actually true?

What happens inside the boardroom? How are strategic decisions really made? How much influence do data, experimentation, customer research, intuition, financial models, politics, timing, risk, and plain human behavior actually have?

And perhaps the most uncomfortable question of all: are optimizers nearly as important to executive decision-making as we like to believe?

These are exactly the questions Quintin will explore in Demystifying Executive Decisions.

Quintin, thank you for accepting the invitation to join us on Texel. I have a feeling this keynote will challenge quite a few assumptions, including some of my own. And if that happens, we’ll know we chose exactly the right topic for #CH2026.
